Loose Dipstick Tube 2006 Ford Focus 1.6 TDCI

Featured Replies

Hi All

Bit of advice needed concerning a loose dipstick tube.

Was just putting in some new bulbs in the headlights and thought whilst here, I'll check the levels. When checking the oil I noticed the dipstick tube was very loose. Had a look at the bracket and noticed the bolt had come loose. Managed to get my hand down there and tighten it back as much as I could, but the bolt is a pig to get to, and the tube is still a bit loose.

I was wondering if any of you guys would know if a loose dipstick tube is likely to cause any issues, more specifically oil leaks. I'm a regular monthly oil checker, and didn't notice it being loose last time I checked, and the oil level today was much the same as when I last checked, so at the moment all seems ok.

Any advice is greatly appreciated as always and thanks in advance
