Hi,

I'm frequently checking out Auto Trader on Ford Focus's, Fiesta's and B-Max's and there always seems to be a lot of black or white ones for sale. Some of them are really nice. 

Why are there so many for sale in these colours?

Contract hire and  fleet operators tend to stick to black, white and silver to some degree, when ordering their vehicles.  As a consequence, when they're disposed of at auction, the used car market has a disproportionate volume of black and white, compared to the other colours

Black is the best colour for 'normal' cars...  Looks good but still subtle and professional...  Black cars are easy to sell and hold better value as well so even private buyers favour them.

The exception is something like an ST where a lairy colour is good.

Solid white is usually a free colour hence there being loads of those on lower spec models haha.

It's more to do with colour trends these days than rental fleets etc. true once upon a time most Black or White cars would be hire vehicles for cheapness and cheaper repairs it is not always the case now.

Black, Silver/Grey, White Blue and Red are the most on trend colours more recently hence why so many are seen these days in these colours.
