Tom-B64
So I'm currently torn between getting a simple K&N drop in panel filter, or a Auto Specialists Induction kit. I kno when I come to remap my car I would most likely get more gains with the induction kit. The K&N is around £40, and the induction kit is around £150. Apart from the nice little sound you get when you let off, is it worth spending all that money on an induction kit? Thanks

Tom-B64
Looking at the Auto Specialists Stage 2 kit, anyone got one?
alexp999
Whats the induction kit, have you got a link? If it is an open filter it could net you worse performance, especially as the 1.0 turbo is at the front near the airbox.
donfresh
Induction kits sound lovely and if you're re-mapping the car aswell it will be beneficial. I have a panel filter in one of my cars and apart from saving money on air filters every service it dosent really do much for your 'inner-boy racer'
JSMarsden
IMO Most inductions kits (although they look a lot better in the engine bay and sound nicer) the air filter would be better for performance. Always seem to lose a little hp through induction kit as opposed to the air filter.
alexp999
Just now, JSMarsden said: IMO Most inductions kits (although they look a lot better in the engine bay and sound nicer) the air filter would be better for performance. Always seem to lose a little hp through induction kit as opposed to the air filter. Because most inductions are open and so just suck in hot air from under the engine. As I said above, the 1.0 has it's turbo at the front and it gets very hot (hence the guard).
Tom-B64
Was looking at this one, with the upgraded Pro Silicone hose and possibly the K&N sock. Auto Specialists Stage 2 Induction Kit I will be going stage 1 soon so I'm thinking i'll benefit from this more rather than a K&N Panel filter. alexp999
You'll get worse performance from that than the stock filter and airbox once warmed up. Better off with just a replacement filter.
