Whys it called the ST '200' when it only has 197bhp. (I know its 212 on overboost, but thats still not 200). I'm guessing there is another reason?

197.3 bhp ( to be exact ) equates to 200 ps. . .

197 BHP = 199.7 PS So I guess the 200 refers to PS.

The '' 200 '' does indeed refer to the '' PS '' output

There we go haha. Not liking all the PS stuff why not just stick to BHP - or is that becoming a thing of the past?

Loving the rims, they look diamond cut on the edges :)

I'm not sure if this is the case here, but the MK6 Fiesta ST500 meant that only 500 were ever manufactured (if I recall correctly). This could be the case here, that only 200 will ever be manufactured; or it could be referring to the PS as mentioned by other people.

Just highlighting a possible naming convention, so I could be wrong. :)

Changed ST150 to 500, as cleared up by MarksST. :)

Definitely to do with the power output.

In a similar fashion to the Focus ST 170 & Mondeo ST 220

That was the ST500 end of run special edition.

Ford haven't put the power output as part of the name for ages, they get added in general use, though causes confusion with the overboost on the fiesta.

BHP is pretty much an imperial measurement, most of the modern world has gone metric though and likes to use HP (PS, DIN) or Kw.

Don't rate the wheels. looks like pressed tin.

Ah ok thanks for that! I noticed a lot of the VW's had gone to PS so I take it others are starting to follow suit and change across!

P.S. is an abbreviation of Pferdestarke, German for metric horsepower

according to Topgear it will have a limited run of 500 units per year.

I am guessing this is the last update before the MK8, can't wait to see what the all new Fiesta ST would look like

Totally agree! Don't like current ones either. When I heard of new model I thought...... 'ahhhh, new wheels to equal great rear bumper/diffuser perhaps?' Errrrrr nope.

I think you're wrong. The ST 150  produced 150 ps, hence the name.

I cant say I like the front of it either.

So really, it has 15hp more? A normal 1.6 ST ecoboost makes 197 on overboost, but this one overboosts to 212? Is that right?

Yes

It has 20 bhp / p.s. more output under normal operation,(up from 180 to 200) & 15 bhp / p.s. more output on time limited overboost as you correctly state

You're correct, apologies my post was a little mixed up. I meant to refer to the ST500, as MarksST thankfully cleared for me. :)
