done a search on google for bearing part number  fwk2961 not one link mentions fiesta apart from a seller on ebay

ok i am not going to start slagging people off here but you can imagine the damage to my back bumper and my wheel is

buckled and scrap material.

well i didn't read the box but my car is not a ford  focus so  kind of lost

Stick to major brands who make parts for manufacturers, such as skf and !Removed! bearings.

cheers mate i will take your advice i am lucky to be alive and so is anyone around me if that happened on a motorway i cant imagine what would have happened.

lucky it was 8am on a very quiet street i wonder if the people at the bus stop across the road filmed it

they all seen it happen they must have been !Removed! themselves

well i should really contact the seller and ask for a refund of £9.15 lol

i understand this is not the place to make a issue of this

my  first day here on the forums wish it could have been less stressful but thanks for your help and just being here

this thread should be a warning to diy mechanics LOL why wait 2 days on cheap parts i have a huge ford dealership

about 2 miles from me on the A71

That last post did say skf and F A G bearings, swear filter has cut me off though.

glad you got away with minor damage and no accident was caused.

I'm sure you probably got a few funny looks to say the least lol.

your not too far from Fife - next time you need bearings pressed or anything else for that matter then get in touch. I have a 20 tonne press.

hey stef i closed down the page as i went to order the bearing and the comments we made about the bearing have dissapeared on this thread there is a delay on this website so that might have caused it but the discount code is gone lol

i have seen some stupid stuff on youtube been seen a video how to repair a alloy wheel like mine is it possible it seems the tyre is still full of air so no damage to the seal

as you can see i fitted the circlip correct but thats what i found today i could kill the guy that sold me the bearing lol

You are having a nightmare eh

That wheel might have bashed back into shape if it wasn't at the valve area - I think it will end up distorting it. Personally I would bin it. You-pull-it in inverkeithing just over the bridge will probably have some of those alloys in.

  • Author

yeah plenty alloys on ebay but postage costs are silly so will keep looking my spare wheel is bandspanking new LOL

but could have been very diffrent with that bearing

Use discount code MARCHMAD you'll get a fiver off.

Go to you-pull-it and buy a new wheel and scrap that one while your at it lol.

how much would a garage charge to get the bearing out and pop the new one in i am abit sus because the two garages i went to said leave it with us and pick it up tommorow

Probably get a mechanic with a spare 5 mins on his hands to do it for a tenner. It's a very straight forward bearing to remove and refit.

  • Author

nice one stef i orderd the bearing and got £28.04 not bad for a before i get the ''banned message'' !Removed! bearing LOL

So is it a pushbike job to pick the new bearing up

  • Author

ok i get it no braned names but thanks stef here is antother thing that will make you chuckle

the place where my car is in the middle of nowhere where is used by truckers to stop over night so it's quite safe

then i rememberd there is a snack bar that has a pitch there and my car is right where his snack bar parks

it is a huge place so no problem i am going to look like a clown when i turn up tommorow with my new bearing in the drum

to fit it

might get a bacon roll and a cup of tea before i start LOL

Or you might not get a bacon roll in your case lol. The guy will turn up cursing you lol

  • Author

yeah i know and i might get free grease for my bearing and some used tea bags thrown at me it is buisy during the day

but heyi the car is on a stand whith no wheel and a poly bag over the brake shoes the drum is in the boot so will have to get it before i go to eurocarparts there is a garadge next door to them at Turnhouse Road so i hope i can get them to put bearing in

there is another garadge 10 min walk from were my car is and i know the mechanic that works there so hope i can get it done quick

i will be up early tommorow to get to eurocarparts the quicker this bearing is in the better it's been a nightmare

So have you got the new bearing on or are you still stuck in the carpark?

  • Author

HI stef been busy with car as usual i got the bearing was up at the crack of dawn to get me drum then the bearing the garage next door to eurocarparts pressed it in for me they didn't charge me i explained the circumstances good guys

but when they pressed in the bearing they told me it went in half way without force then they used hydrolic to seat it

so someone had cleaned inside the drum or it has wear so i went to u pull it today and got a drum and noticed the adjuster for the brake shoes was missing half it's peices so got a good one only  £10 for a nice day out

there was accident on the bridge going there and it was gridlock one lane on the bridge was open but i wasnt involved LOL

just got a alloy on ebay for £30 + £8pp u pull it prefer to sell full sets

i love u pull it

i could go carzy in there and buy lots of things i dont need but the drum i pulled was good so went out and put it in car

went back in to get the brake shoe adjuster went to another motor pulled another drum off and it was brand spanking even the  clips and spings

i was gutted but took the adjuster it was near closing time so decided not to buy another drum lol.

it can be dodgy i tried to get at one motor and jacked it up and it tried to pin me against another car

so i let it win and moved on some cars do have nasty streaks and there a few bad ones in there LOL

getting back to the car yeah i got it on the road by 12 am friday no snack bar there so the guy must have moved on somewhere else

eurocarparts are out of stock of the drum with fitted bearing so thats why i got a scrappie drum

i am considering the drum thats on the car as a emergency fix because of the wear but should be ok for shopping and stuff

haven't been online as had my mate over from kirkcaldy i had a good drink last night to drown my sorrows

but it has been a quick learning curve and i discoverd u pull it .. i think i could get a better motor now i have been in there

i love cat d motors and bikes
