Car Alarm and Door Light Issues

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a Ford Focus Mk2, I had the alternator and battery changed a while ago and even before that I locked my car with the button on the key, and 10mins after the alram goes off and that everytime and I can't lock my car. If you have advise please help me!

Second when I drive my car the door light flashes on off every now and then but all the doors are closed. Any advice on that?

thanks

Sounds like you have a dodgy door/bonnet/boot switch somewhere.

So every now and then it sets off either the alarm or door light because the switch incorrectly appears to be in the open position.

Do you know anything that will stop it happening?

You need to work out which one is triggering it and check the contacts and wiring or replace it.

I don't know if there would be any errors logged as to which one and don't have experience myself in working out which one it is unfortunately.

I'm sure some are logged when alarm system has a fault, but I can't remember how specific they are. Iantt's bound to know

When I was scanning my Mk2 Focus prior purchase, I remember there were a couple of historical (not present at the time of test) alarm system errors there.   But I can't remember if they were specific to an historical fault, like bonnet circuit, rear door circuit etc., or just general alarm system fault

Unfortunately, that particular log was cleared and deleted when I ran Forscan again, following my first service post purchase.  So I can't look now to see
