Ford Fiesta Trend 2012- Alternator problems Help!!

Featured Replies

My van has just started having a constant battery light on but still running fine. However two nights ago it went flat on me... so i changed the alternator and thought that would fix it. It hasn't . It seems the alternator is working fine but there is a problem with the electrical system somewhere i think. Its a smart charge alternator but it only has a single pin plug on it. Im stumped as to where to go from here. Any help would be much apreciated

this issue happened to JohnH, he replaced the alternator and battery and still had the issue, it seems one of the wires running from the ECU to the alternator was broken in the wheel well area.

You should have three wires I believe for a smart charge alternator. Earth, 12v and the smart charge wire itself...
