I've asked around and can't get a reply so asking this group cos you'll know..I have a 2000 focus and somebody broke into the car and stole the ashtray/storage draw from the dash ( I know random ) is it a way to Hotwire the car and they got disturbed or is it just a idiot being a pain...fully aware a 2000 plate ain't high on theft list so I'm kinda stumped

    Just random I reckon.

    Never heard of any immobiliser weakness related to any wiring accessed from behind the ashtray drawer.

    It's such a small hole that the only wires reachable are the lighter socket ones anyway.

    The immobiliser system would negate 'hotwiring' anyway.

    Had a note left in my car from a burglar telling me to get a better sterio. 

    Cheek of it.!!!

    Probaly took the ashtray instead of emptying it. Good luck getting a replacement.
