Well I picked it up yesterday and very pleased with it. All the scratches and wheels were done as promised, new cambelt, serviced, 1 new tyre and MOT done. Golf 1.9TDi Match.

Its certainly a more rattly diesel being PD as opposed to these more refined CR diesels but once settled to a cruise its perfectly quiet and unobtrusive. Plus PD diesels have less to go wrong on them.

My first VW and I must say the German build quality stands out a mile. Everything just feels so solid and the ride is like a Rolls Royce compared to the ST but obviously the ST was much better in the bends and a lot faster. Ready for a change though and looking forward to many miles of happy motoring.

    Is the 1.9 more reliable than the 2.0? Our 08 A3 2.0 TDI was hideously unreliable. Had enough punch when it worked though!

    Yes much more reliable. I've spoken to several people who know their stuff and the 1.9 received praise whereas the 2.0 is generally not recommend for reliability
