Fuel flap and rear passenger doors

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I've just bought 2010 s-max and noticed couple of annoying issues. Hopefully you can help me, please. My fuel flap keeps opening during traveling, it is loose on hinghes once opened but maybe you know how to disassembly it so I can see why it opens it self? Second thing, the passenger rear doors when open slowly I can feel and hear "clonk" sound, any ideas how to fix above issues. I did had a look but don't won't to damage my car experimenting. Thank you very much for help. Regards, Piotr.

if you dont have a flap release, then you probably have got a loose piece, it could well be a damaged hinge, but I dont know immediately how to replace them and I expect this wont be a simple job.

You may find the easier answer, is to just install a small magnet on the door, and on the contact point.

The clonk sound when opening a door, could be a buckle or poorly aligned hinge, that would suggest the door may have been replaced after an accident? you would likely be able to realign this if necessary, but start off by greasing it if the door fits well in the frame.
