Engine fault light and Text

Featured Replies

i have a ford fusion tdci 1.4

i have engine fault codes p1201 and p0201.

when starting cold the engine is really lumpy and sometimes clattery. there is a large poof of smoke when it does this.

once the engine is warm it sounds smooth but  there is the occasional stammer and I'm having to be cautious with acceleration obviously this is harder up hill.

any explainations, help, and advice welcome.

Thanks

P1201 - Injector Circuit Open / Shorted - Cylinder #1.

P0201 - Injector 1 – circuit malfunction.

I'd go to a Diesel specialist for a check.

sounds like injector 1 fault then, and for future reference to the garage you take it to, cyl 1 is gearbox end, so many garages get it wrong and replace the wrong injector
