Hi can anybody help me please was driving home from work car was working fine for about 20 minutes then lost power so I pulled up looked under bonnet to find my air filter melted with two holes burnt in can any explain how or what has caused this plz would be very grateful 

Sorry steph dont no how to reply to ur message so I dont think I will be able to send pics.its 2009 plate not 16 as stated all I can say is there a hole in pipe leading into air filter box and 1on the box thanks
