when you get round to swapping engine over, let me know and i will help you with info. basically you can pull engine out from above and leave gearbox, driveshafts etc in place in vehicle.

Well, after blowing a boost hose off on the dual carriage way on the way to a booking on Saturday, the car is now running perfectly again. It had to be the most awkward pipe to get to.    An

Old engine is out, all ancillaries, clutch and flywheel removed and refitted to new used engine. £745 down the drain and a week worth of nights working on the car.

Night 5 tomorrow and the car should be finished, so will just be awaiting a replacement fuel line feeding to the High pressure fuel pump.

New engine is fitted mechanically, almost fully plugged in & bits are plumbed in.

Been a learning experience to say the least.

Also, the damage to the old engine is serious.. The intake valves are coated in basically swarf on the rear. Dread to think what the cylinders like

Ive attached a couple of photos

May give this thread a few more posts but unfortunately i think my ford days are coming to an end. This is my third in 2 years of driving and its time for something better built. Better equiped and more powerful

Car lives! Seems to run okay. Now its a case of

Software update with ford on thursday to remove the awful map

First MOT is due sometime this month, believe its this tuesday

Then it needs taxing (for free :/)

Also got a borascope arriving sometime tomorrow to have a look inside the engine. Removed the injectors yesterday to find C1 injector caked up to hell apart from one tiny pin prick.

On a positive note, the rear end of the car is now fully LED to match the OEM LED taillights and 3rd brake light thanks to lighting from AutoBeam. I used YDET10 for 10% off

So, I sold the fiesta on Friday and picked up a 2.0TSI VW Scirocco GT DSG

The forum and it's members have saved me thousands of pounds in both parts and labour, and I couldn't be more grateful. I wish you all the best & good luck with any future projects!

Cheers

Nice car. Happy with it?

  • Author

Extremely!

Except

Went into VW for a DSG update

They also did some recall work.. Updated the ABS software and bricked the module!

So they replaced that and a broken air intake at their cost.

But now the ABS does nothing as they've obviously messed something up.. We'll see

Fhey also washed it and made a mess :(

Other than that its spot on! 😊

so dealer satisfaction and expertise is on par with other manufacturers. lol

ABS now works.. Seems it simpley wanted to relearn the braking system or something as its perfect now

Oh, and the modifications have begun.. Spot my bodge!!

Ill be cleaning the kit soon, I test fitted it then couldn't be bothered removing again
