MK6 Fiesta Steering Problems

Featured Replies

Hi All.

Been having some issues with my steering on my fiesta,

I will try to explain in the most simplest terms possible, in the hope that someone can help, or pinpoint the actual problem.

*The car drives in a straight line on even roads such as motorways and doesn’t pull to one side, or when breaking.

* On uneven roads, such as back streets, lanes, the front wheels seem to pick up every imperfection such as cracks, pot holes, ruts, cats eyes, which causes the steering wheel to twitch violently from side to side. When breaking, the car will pull in the direction of those imperfections.

*When accelerating and catching things in the road such as white lines, the steering flicks off to either side as if it’s skating on ice.

*When i turn left the steering doesn't come back center.

I have been told it could be my steering rack or steering pump, just wondering if anyone has had the same issues, i just want this sorted, i have already changed the following

* Wish Bones (bottom arms)

*Suspension Struts

*Drop Links

Thanks :)
