Evad Geshuh
I have a 2001 Galaxy 2.8 petrol automatic with less than 50k on the clock. I've had exactly the same problem, which occurred whenever I was turning the wheel to the left, above 25mph. I took the car into the local Ford dealer, and they said it was the gearbox. I had this checked by a specialist company, and they said it was fine. To date, I have had both wheel bearings renewed, and a new passenger side drive shaft ( which replaced one fitted when I bought the car, and was the wrong type and size) The latest drive shaft has made the noise less noticeable, but it is still there when turning left. I have resigned myself to simply renewing bits as we go until the problem is found. My suspicion is that a shock absorber is at fault, because I get some wheel judder as well. i would be interested in anything you may find. Mk2_mad
Thanks guys, if the ball joints were starting to seize up or dry top mounts how would I fix this? The car had new driveshafts two years ago I think and new front shocks, what probably doesnt help was the fact that the car was parked up for a few years before I got it
Mk2_mad
Also might I add that I stay in scotland but my mother (who drives the car) has driven to germany with it and we have noticed that the creaking noise started after we have gotten to germany, its really warm there so maybe thats dry out the top mounts, we never had this problem in scotland mainly because its never really warm were I live
