New2Ford - Encountering problems

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

I am new to the forum so i apologize if this topic has been discussed before.

My cigarette lighter doesnt work and i have had a look at all of the fuses underneath the glove box in the car and found no broken ones, i heard that sometimes there are fuses in the boot but when i looked i couldnt find any. i am not sure what to do about it.. any help would be appreciated thanks

Also after the person at halfords and finished fiddling with my fuses, my central locking no longer locks the car, the only door that locks is the drivers side and thats using the key in the lock. i dont know if she has loosened a connection of some sort or what but there is still some communication between my key and the car because it still clicks when i press the buttons, the car just doesnt lock.. again any help would be appreciated.. thanks

sorry for the long essay lol.

The latter is would complain directly to halfords about as they created the issue, they therefore can pay to solve the issue x

The former might just be a broken cigarette lighter socket and it might just need replacing?

My husbands cigarette lighter socket broke on his old car and it wasn't the fuse either tbh

Try Laurie's advice first, I would suggest.

If the Focus C-Max has the same fuses as a normal Focus, then from the 1999 to 2005 user manual:

Fuse 47 (a 15 amp, blue one) is for the cigar lighter / power outlet.

Fuse 63 (20 amp, yellow, but at the back of the fuse box somewhere) is for central locking.

These fuses are in the Passenger (glove box) Fuse box.

Also check that none of the connectors or relays in that fuse box have been dislodged.

There is another fuse box in the engine bay, but the fuses here are for different, or more general, systems.

Peter.
