Can you remember your old regs

Featured Replies

Not current, but how  many of your old regs can you remember?be nice to know if any members future or present have your old car...

Mine:

Last one white zetec was L80 RYE (private plate previously BT62 PLU)

The silver one OV58WJY...then there was

LC52 FZB and Y769 NFA the two state blue Mondeos.

That's as far as I can remember tbh

never had a ford before, so cant add to this , but do remember old cars i did have in the 1980's and even remember my mums first car, a white mini moh355f,

Yeah I can remember most of mine lol.  Though half were broken for parts or have since been killed by the new owners.  Found out my high miler 306 HDi DTurbo (sold on 274k miles) has recently been killed by the new owner. :(

Only had 3 Fords though, currently still own 2 of them.

The other one was a standard 1.4 LX Mk6 Fiesta - Reg number HJ02 GZE.  I sold it to an older couple, who have since sold it to a young lad that's modified it and takes it to a lot of local cruises and meets that I also attend lol, doubt he's on here though!

Also pretty sure all of Dads Mondeo's have been crushed by now lol.  Ones I can remember were L***WDX 2.0 auto hatch, blue or green, W*** LHT, silver 2.0 petrol hatch.  And Y413 MRO - silver 2.5 V6 Ghia X estate.  He also had an awful green 'Verona' with a bashed in door, was still being driven with the bashed in door last I saw it but can't think of the reg on that, plus it wouldn't pass MOT with the 'new' regs about doors opening lol.

I am not going to list them in full for the usual security reasons (they do say you should never put full registrations on line) but here we go.

DRW***T Fiat

B***EHL VW

C***GOH Rover

H***JBL Fiat

M***PVO Rover

P***EOG Rover

Y***UGV Rover

AY**XWX MG

Current Focus.

Plus 2 cars I had but never got on the road but can't remember the registrations of those.

Parents.

E***MKV Peugeot

G***CKV Peugeot

K***AKV Seat

K***AKV Seat (both same cars with following reg's both new in same colour one 3 door one 5 door.

M**DFB Fiat

L***OWK Peugeot

Brother

FE**NKK Company car

Funny how I only ever remember the one car my brother had and several of my parents cars but not all of them, but I did go to pick up all the new cars with them in that list, Being a kid and going to pick up a new car was sort of an exciting time as a youngster lol

No idea why most of them stick in my memory so clearly but did have to think about a couple for a moment.

I can remember most of ours, with the exception of anything over 10 years ago.

  • P719 ASA - 1997 Ford Fiesta 1.25 Ghia - Scrapped
  • R515 RST - 1998 Rover 216 SLi - Scrapped
  • W322 RDU - 2000 Ford Focus 1.8 LX - Scrapped
  • X804 VSS - 2001 Ford Fiesta 1.3 Flight - Scrapped
  • JEZ 2558 - 1999 Volvo V40 1.8 Auto - Sold to a local man who then sold it on again, but it is still taxed, insured and MOTd
  • OW05 JMV - 2005 Nissan Primera 1.8 S - Sold to a local woman who has kept it on the road, recently failed MOT but has been repaired and passed
  • AF52 EZU - 2002 Fiat Punto 1.2 Active - Sold to a local man who kept it on the road until the MOT expired, upon which it was never tested and is now SORNed and not insured

All in all, it's a rather depressing trip down memory lane, considering all but two of the vehicles listed are dead

07 Fiesta Zetec: SUI 1754

07 Focus Titanium: GL56 WTF

(never forgetting that one)

Dads old Vectra: YIW 1575 (I think)

Sent from the pub with a pint in the other hand.

You must all have excellent memories:notworthy:

I can just about recall the plate suffixes and prefixes, and not all of them by any means:mellow:

N595 TPE - Peugeot 306 2.0 - scrapped in 2004.

CU04 TGF - Alfa 147 1.6 (not its original plate, had personal plate before) still alive and passed its MOT in June with no advisories at 64k miles. Mum loved that car!

KV55 VVT - Audi A4 convertible 1.8T - can't find any record of it.

FY58 AZV - Audi A4 Avant 2.0TDI.

RE08 *** - Audi A3 2.0TDI - scrapped.

OY61 FCU - Freelander 2.

LF14 ETE - Range Rover Sport.

Hmmm, this may be a bit scary.laugh.png

The first car I drove was WYF 999 (note the lack of any suffix/prefix, it pre-dated both!)

It was a RIley 1.5, a bit like a Morris Minor, made sportier & more "luxurious" with a radio, wood trim, and twin SU carbs.

My first car was AEH 721 C, a Hillman Imp.

Then ALR 465 H (Triumph 1300), RPO 87 M (Triumph 1500), VTK xxx M (Triumph 2000),

MAE 25 Y (Ford Cortina 1.6), C 516 OJM (Sierra 1.6), J 602 XVW (Sierra 1.8), R 595 JNH (unmentionable make!)

If you see any of those numbers driving about, then you should be really worried! ohmy.png Spooky.

I did not cheat by looking them up, so there may be some errors, the ALR & VTK were hard ones to recall.

I've only owned 2 cars so it's easy for me :)

My old Fiesta was ST04 UXE

present car 1.6 Mk2 Focus facelift .......

One plate that lingers in my memory is my mams old Sherpa minibus from the late 70's! The plate number was JAG 315N.

We was heading out to Skeggness with the caravan attached to the Sherpa and a bloke pulls us over, we thought there was something seriously wrong with either the minibus or the caravan but there wasn't no problem other than the driver wanted my mams plates off the minibus!! Turns out this bloke had a love for Jaguars and owned ten of them, his house number was 315 and his name was Nigel, the bloke told my mam he'll foot the bill of the plate transfer and also pay my mam anything she wanted within reason, so my mam laughed and jokingly said ''Five grand and it's yours''.... Then the bloke said ''Sold''  the look on my mams face was a picture, a couple of months later we had different plates on our minibus and my mam was five grand better off, £5,000 was a lot of money back then and it was like winning the lottery.

My first car, Ford Escort LX, GCZ 3812. (I wish I had transferred that plate to every car i've owned since! But it needed an MOT to do it!)

Second, Ford Focus Estate MK1.5, OE02 KKL.

Third, Ford Focus Estate MK2.5 Zetec, EX08 ZWE

Fourth, Ford Mondeo Estate MK2 GLX, W196 XNO

Fifth, Ford Mondeo Estate MK3 Ghia X, EA52 FNH

I'm only 26, and I guess I'm a Ford Fan!

HY53 RZX Mk1 Focus LX

AY11 FUO Mk7 Fiesta ZetecS

KJ53 KLV Mk3 Mondeo ST220

R800 VRS Mk2 Fabia Vrs (current - private plate came with car)

It makes me sad that the current isn't a Ford. I plan on rectifying that in as few years as possible (but I've gotta keep this Vrs for a while as it's my 3rd car of the year - oops)

W624 KNA - fun little Punto Mk2

PJ60 SVE - Focus I've just traded in for...

MV12 ZYK - Mondeo 2.0TDCI, Titanium, which will soon be changed to a private plate :D
