Fiesta not starting

Featured Replies

Hi all my daughter owns a Ford Fiesta 55 plate petrol 1499 cc

the problem is it drives great but every couple of weeks she will get in and it won't start

I read a EAC fail on dash in MPH section of the dash. I have had some one look at it and no codes reg then he tried to start it and started 1st turn. Felt like a right idiot.

So last time it happened I left it 30 mins still would not start no sign of fire ring long story short ended up leaving over night and it started first turn in morning problem is getting worse happening every few days now no one can tell me what is Wong

any help would be grateful

It would be a very good idea to get a scanner. Any OBD2 scanner will read most engine error codes (DTCs).

Until you manage to capture an error code, it will be almost impossible to diagnose. The code may only be present for a few start cycles after it happens. So you have to keep trying.

Primary suspect is the throttle pedal sensor, then the wiring to that, but the throttle body (the valve that controls the air into the engine) could be a suspect also. These in-car displays are often very vague, the DTCs can be more specific.
