TomsFocus
Ok, so I got this this morning - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291339884218?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Says 'repair kit', so I assumed it was the same as this - http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_fiesta_steering_and_ignition_lock_assy_2001_f_4355452_c_592.htm But it isn't. It's literally as pictured, a random ready made lock barrel with 2 pre-cut keys. My ignition is already different to doors hence wanting a 'repair kit' to build to the same code as the doors. Was I expecting the wrong thing or have they worded that wrongly?? Reckon I can send it back for a refund?

Dodgy titles abound. Does this look much like an Inlet manifold to you? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EGR-VALVE-INLET-MANIFOLD-Ford-Transit-Connect-Galaxy-WA6-FOCUS-MONDEO-1-8-TDCi-/252504188034?hash=item3aca6c2482:g:mzsAAOSwCfdXpDkI It is not even an EGR valve, there is no valve in the bit in the picture! It is just the actuator. But the seller might be generous & refund all or part, just to avoid bad feedback. Worth a try.

I've dealt with them, although not with an item that was misdescribed, but an item listed that wasn't actually in stock. They phoned me within seconds of the Paypal payment going through, to tell it wasn't in stock. So they'd be refunding my payment. Which they did very swiftly, literally whilst they were on the phone. It seems that they employ a sub-contractor to do actual eBay listings and as a consequence mistakes get made, like non-existent stock, or in your case misdescribed repair kits. Phone them or message them, as I'd say it's misdescribed, as you say a repair kit is to rebuild a lock, the listing is using the keywords repair kit which confuses everyone to what they are actually listing
Tdci-Peter
Talking about dodgy eBay items, with Winter approaching, I was idly investigating PTC heaters for Foci, and came across this interesting(?) item: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lighter-Heating-Steering-Wheel-Covers-Heated-Warm-Winter-Steering-Wheel-Covers-/262068844294?hash=item3d04853706:g:CqQAAOSw9r1V-hyX Perhaps they only have straight roads in that part of China

Quote from listing: "Function: Line the heated wheel cover to the cigar lighter before you drive, after about 10s, you can feel it hotter and hotter." I'm slightly dubious as to its heating abilities though, and would never use one because I cannot stand steering wheel covers... In any event, it'd be redundant with me as I always pre-heat my cars in winter anyway (run the engine with heater on for 10-15 minutes prior to driving). Joss max
Wow!!! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Winter-Steering-Wheel-Covers-Wool-Heated-Steering-Wheel-Cover-Plush-Covers-Kits/262063389273?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D38540%26meid%3D4403f03dcdd745bcb38be74284d8e9a7%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D262068844294

That Pink one is something to behold (http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/I-QAAOSwKIpV-jGz/s-l1600.jpg (But preferably from a distance, like another planet.) Pity it has not got the electric lead to whip round, tangle in the indicator & other stalks, and hit you in the face or other places. Ah well, you can't have it all. PS: Apologies to Tom if we are turning this topic into a general "dodgy Ebay" one, it did start off quite sensibly. My fault, but it was a good opportunity! PPS: I get what Jamie is saying. If used properly, with the wire end safely secured or all removed before driving, it might be reasonably practical. But I bet it does not stress that, and will buyers of these sort of things always be sensible?! And as for CE marking, or approval of some sort, hmmm. Deffo Dodgy to me.

That's true, especially considering 95% of them will end up in Vauxhall Corsas!!
