Shuddering on Acceleration

Featured Replies

Hi, I have got a 2005 MK2 Focus and I have noticed that when accelerating it seems to shudder almost like the engine is in too high a gear. I accelerate a little harder and then settle back at the previous speed and it seems to die down a bit - I'm not sure what could be causing the issue? No engine lights come on, no shudder in the idle and the car seems healthy otherwise...

many thanks

Could be coil pack/leads, depends on the 'shudder' could also be unbalanced wheels

Check engine mounts also just to be sure

I have a Mk2 07 Focus had more or less the same problem turned out to be the drivers side Driveshaft middle joint. Not cheep to fix. Get underneath and give the shafts a good hard wiggle to see if there is any play.I f there is you will see straight away. If not you could be looking at wheel balance  or slightly buckeled wheel or even tyer problems. Just a guess but worth a look.
