focus titanium

Featured Replies

Hello i have a 2008 focus titanium bought 6 weeks ago clutch went its got 77000 on the clock, had it fixed at jennings ford and was told it was not the original clutch. I would like to know if this is going to happen regular as 77000 is not much for to have more than 1 clutch it has a dual mass flywheel on. Any advice would be very much appreciated thanks in advance.

77k is not unusual for a clutch to fail depending on how the car has been driven.

Will it happen again at that mileage? Again depends on how the car is driven.  The duel mass fly wheel is there to help smooth out any vibration, so without the DMF could shorten the life of the clutch.

Was the DMF changed when the clutch was changed ?

Thanks for your reply, yes the dmf was renewed at the same time as clutch. I asked ford if it was the original clutch they took out and they told me they couldnt be sure but the gear box had been took out before which makes me think it has had more than 1 clutch in 77k, on that basis i am hoping the clutch is not going to go every 25k, any thoughts? Also since the clutch and dmf have been renewed the gear box feels quite slack it was tighter before is this normal?
