My S max engine warning light has come on ( not flashing) and there is a marked difference in the acceleration moving up the gears. Engine running fine and revving fine while standing but just very slow getting speed up. I did a self diagnostic test ( never knew you could do that till I saw it on you tube ) and no codes were shown. I have ordered a diagnostic reader. Should be here tomorrow. Plus archoil deiseil cleaner plus eco tec turbo cleaner. I am not mechanically minded at all so any further ideas, tips appreciated..like where the blazes is the turbo? I have had a look around and cant find what I imagine its supposed to looks like. See what I mean about not being mechanically minded!

Is there any boost from the turbo?  Does it feel like your normal engine but without a turbo? Any whistling noises? Increased black smoke?

It feels like my normal engine but without the turbo. No black smoke. Thought I noticed a slight whistling noise while driving with the window down. Havnt heard it since.

could be numerous reasons why turbo is not boosting, any dtcs from code reader will be usefull to start with, what engine? 1.8 , 2.0 or 2.2

Possibly try the common culprits like MAP and MAF sensors. I would expect them to show a code if they were bad though.
