Self revving focus mk1

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

im Baz I have a mk1 focus 1.8 MP3 occasionally when pulling up to a junction when I push in the clutch the engine will rev up to 3000/4000 revs for a few seconds and then settle I have replaced the speed sensor and the throttle position sensor with no change

any suggestions would be great

thanks

Don't quote me on this, but I had an issue with my auntie's Clio awhile back with the engine revving on its own and it turned out the wire for the accelerator had snapped so maybe one of the pully wires is on its way out? I'd get it checked ASAP by a friend who knows about cars or a local garage that won't charge you and arm and a leg!
