Mk5 Zetec s troubles

Featured Replies

Hi I wonder if anyone can help,

I have a mk5 Ford Fiesta Zetec s 1.6 and I've been having some trouble with it for a while, when I'm driving along the engine will all of a sudden cut out and the temp gauge shoots straight into the red, I had the coil pack changed which cured it for a month or so then it started cutting out again. I've checked all the ht leads and they seem to be fine but what I did discover when changing the spark plugs there was an oily residue on the threads of them, however I have had it compression tested and that came back fine. At the minute the car is running but bogging out and low revs (under 3000) then seems to be fine.

if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated,

many thanks
