Well after 5 weeks of ownership of the Lexus IS300h I got rid of it on Saturday and I'M BACK WITH FORD.
I'll start with why I got rid. It was mainly down to its ride quality or lack of it. I akin it to a lowered car from the 80's the way cats eyes and ruts were passed through into the car. Not good for a supposedly luxury car! Another reason was/is the grab handle over the drivers door. I was sick of banging my head on it. Because it is a saloon it was a tight fit to get my granddaughters pram in the boot. The CVT was weird too and I couldn't get to grips with it and when I put my foot down it was like terrible turbo lag. Someone on the Lexus forum described its engine as akin to a tractor. I agree with that.
Ok it was/is in essence a very good car but it just isn't for me. I will however miss one thing from it. When you switch it off and un clip your seatbelt the seat went back and the steering column retracted making it roomy to get out of and in to.

Now then I bet you're wandering what I've got. Well I'm back with the Mondeo. It's the 3rd one I've had as I adore them.
Well it's a 62 plate Lunar Sky coloured Titanium X Sport 2.0 litre Ecoboost. I test drove the Focus ST a 16 plate and it impressed me greatly and I'd have got one but its boot too small for the time being so the Mondeo was sought and found in Nottingham.
It's done 49,500 miles with full dealer service history. 3 previous owners. Its got the touch screen navigation headunit (the car had to have that and the one I've got was the only one in the country with it from what I could see). It's got blind spot information, lane guidance assist, rear view camera. I'm as chuffed as a chuffed thing with it. It drives superb just as I remember from my previous sport diesel I had a couple years back. I'm really pleased with the fuel consumption. Cruise set to ahem 80 and 50 in the roadworks and the trip computer showed an average of just under 36mpg. I was expecting it to be in the 20's.
I do however have an issue but I'll post that separately (a slight buzzing sound coming from the dash or in front when the engine is running)
Below are a few pics of my beauty. It sure feels good to be back :-)

good looking car and nice colour.

and its always the small details that makes your heart warm to a car.............

:-)

Gorgeous - I was looking at one of these before I chose my estate - I love those seats, alone!

Welcome back to ford Vlad

Thanks peeps. I do need to give the exhaust ends a clean and polish though.

Well I didn't expect that lol...  Looks nice though!

Taken car to a car hifi place I know to have my speakers amp and sub installed. For the first time of ownership I booted it on a motorway stretch. Effinghell it shifts. Thought the diesel mondy sport I had was quick but this ecoboost is quicker. Yippee lol. Leeds to Oldham at various speeds and I'm well chuffed at 36mpg average. What an excellent car I have (and you lot with the same car) 😆
