Remote key fob not working with new battery

Featured Replies

Hi,

I was getting a low remote key battery message when starting up my car (Focus Titanium 2013), a Ford garage changed the battery in my remote key fob, but now the remote key doesn't work at all, and the garage has now closed for the weekend but I need both my keys working for tomorrow.

Does the remote need recoding, and does anyone know how to do this? I've attached pictures a couple of pics so you can see the type of key I have etc.

.

I believe the only way to reprogram the key less entry fobs is via Ford IDS, so it will need a trip to the garage that changed the battery in the first place.

you put the battery in the right way round? you shouldnt need to recode the remotes in.

just re read your post, did ford garage put the battery in the right way round?

I'll see if I can get the key open and give it a go!

easy enough to get open, hold fob steady with one hand, and twist the little key ring on the end, normally there is another larger key ring attatched to it that makes it easier. or put a small srewdriver though the little ring to twist it just enough to prise the fob apart to get lever/screwdriver in
