Mk6 fiesta overheating and no coolant fan

Featured Replies

Hi all, I am having trouble diagnosing the problem, car is a 2005 1.4 fiesta.

It's overheating in traffic and boiling over and the fan isn't coming on, this is a list of what's been changed so far

1. thermostat

2. water pump

2. temperature sensor

3. relay

Fan comes on when wires are disconnected from temp sensor.

I've had a look and found posts for similar but never a fix any ideas or tests would be appreciated thanks

To the Fiesta section with you ---------->

sorry but it appears your head gasket on your car may have blown

Thanks for the reply, quite sure it's not the head gasket as compression test was good and no loss of oil or water.

Could the heater control valve cause these symptoms?

Heater does everything it should, ie blow hot and cold air.

Start with the basics (& cheapest options)

Try the fuse first.
