I have a 2010 Mondeo, genuine 25,000 miles manual hatch with a petrol engine. 2.0L Duratec-HE PFI 145 PS.

The car is generally sharp on acceleration, perfect engine behaviour on the open road, but too eager in stop-go queuing traffic.

I find that a tiny delicate movement of the accelerator pedal provides more revs than wanted. Fully in control but the lightest of touch is necessary. It does not surge/over rev, but it is tedious in this situation. I see this as a definite fault. Does anyone out there have the same difficulty? We also have a 2012 1.6 Duratec petrol Focus on which the pedal operation versus revs is normal in comparison.

I am wondering if I buy an ELM 327 connector and download something ( Forscan?), will I be able to adjust the pedal angle versus revs in this lowest range?

Failing this, there must be a transmitter associated with the pedal. Is this likely to be the culprit? A common fault? Name of device, cost, possibility of DIY fitting advice would be appreciated.

 

 

 

 

 

Hi there. Did you find a solution to your problem as I'm having similar issues with my 2008 mk4 duratec. The car has covered 123,000 miles and otherwise drives perfect achieving 37mpg combined. When the car is cold the throttle requires a bit of operating to get any response however like you were experiencing when it's warmed up the throttle requires only the smallest of input and can be a pain when pulling away. I've just had a new clutch kit fitted so sorting the throttle issue would be great. Someone suggested that the inlet solenoid could be the cause, I've located where it is and there are 2 of them, any ideas yourself? Kind regards.
