Ford Focus 1.6tcdi Titanium X (2011) - Electrical Fault

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I am looking for some help/advice regarding my 2011 Ford Focus Estate 1.6tcdi Titanium X. Recently, the battery has been going flat, as it was the original battery I replaced it like-for-like. Since then it has drained on a couple of occasions and I have had to jump start the car. This morning we went to open the car with the remote key fob and it would not work, we tried the spare that would not work either. We then removed the emergency key from the key fob and the car still would not open.

Has anyone experienced this before, if so, is there any other way to get into the car so that I can raise the bonnet to jump start it?

Moreover, does anyone have any idea what could be draining the battery?

Your thoughts/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The emergency key should let you in, it requires no power, purely mechanical.
