Does anyone recognise this screw?

Featured Replies

Hi.  My Dad's been driving his new Fiesta for just a few months.  Yesterday, he found this screw on the floor (driver's seat).  It's made of a hard plastic.  Can anyone suggest where it came from?  Thank you.

Under the drivers seat there is a electrical connection box that houses the connections for airbags etc. Pry the cover off and see if it has fallen out of there:

Hi Tomson and thanks for that.  The box cover doesn't look like it needs to be pried - there's a metal screw there in what seems to be the same place as the one in your picture.  I haven't touched it yet (I'm a bit wary!).  D'you reckon there'd be ANOTHER screw (the loose plastic one) behind that cover?

Have a look under the passenger seat and see if you can spot the same screw head anywhere then check drivers side to see if its missing in the same location. Worth a try anyway.

A good idea, WES180.  No luck though.  Never mind, I don't reckon much harm will come to the car for want of this screw...

If it's plastic it won't be holding anything together, will just be for fixing a cover or something.

Might even be a spare that's just found its way out of somewhere.

Keep it safe, you might one day work out where it came from, lol.

Probably the day you sell it lol
