ignition locked help please Mindel ydci titanium 2008

Hello please help 

I have a Ford mondeo tdci titanium 2008 58000 miles. Went to start it ignition Locked and dash says steering locked RE try. The back windows are down and will not go up either! Any ideas guys would be appreciated thanks in advance xx

    I dont mean to sound patronising but are you turning the wheel as you turn the key? It happened to my wife once as the lock was quite firm and it needed a good old turn on the steering wheel while turning the key to release it.
