Fitting Vacuum Pump

Featured Replies

For the DIYers out there, does anyone know about installing a vacuum pump.

When I took it off it kind of sprung off, but refitting the shaft requires force on the vacuum pump to reinstall.

Do I force it back on, or is there a trick I am missing? seems difficult to align the sticking out shaft with the diaphragm centre.

Thanks.

Al

Hello and welcome Alastair

Forgive me, but are we talking vacuum pump on your car or, ahem else where. If the latter, we don't have a section for that. Lol

We do however have a section for Focus issues where your more than likley to get the best answer, Here is the link http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/forum/2-ford-focus-club/

Also at the top of that page check out the guides section as your question may have already been answered

I have trawled the entire web for a guide to refitting. I don't have a Haynes guide, simply didn't want to force the diaphragm on the pump; its always better to ask first. I will try your link for better luck. The other pump you refer to, I suppose its obvious enough where the shaft goes. LOL.
