Mk 1 Focus Passenger Door Not Opening Central Locking?

Featured Replies

Hi - hope someone can help me

I have just bought a Mk 1 Focus 1.6 Zetec (54 reg) as a cheap runabout. Everything works fine but I can't get the front passenger door to open from the outside. I have to open it using the handle on the inside and then if the door is closed again it can't be opened from the outside again.

I have tried locking and unlocking it using the remote key and also using the spare key just in case it was tuck in a loop but with no luck.

I am assuming this is some sort of electrical fault (fuse or solenoid etc) but I'm afraid I don't have much knowledge in this area.

does anyone have any suggestions of where to start - I don't want to go along an expensive route of auto electrician and Ford Dealers etc if possible as the car only cost me £500 but I would like to be able to open the door!

Thanks in advance

Martin
