Fiesta Fan Resistor

Featured Replies

Hi,

My fan resistor blew a couple of months ago straight after the annual service. So i sent her back in and got the resistor replaced. All worked well for a week and then blew again. Sent the car back in and they recommended that i change the air filter at the same time as this may be causing the resistor to overheat. I saw the old filter and it was in need of a replacement. Anyway,  a week later and the resistor has blown again.  What i have found is that the day before the resistor blew, i had used the air-con for a substantial period (+- 2 hours)

Any ideas from the gurus?

The dealership wants to pullout the dash to test the interior fan motor and wiring - just seems a bit extreme

input much appreciated

Jake
