Making my fiesta louder

Featured Replies

Hi guys, first time poster here :)

I currently drive a 2002 Silver 5 door 1.4 petrol fiesta 40,000 miles :) It's the first car I have owned that I actually care about, I wax it every day and keep it looking great, I'm doing a few mods to the car, and I want to start by making the car louder :) I would like a nice earthy grumble from the car but nothing crazy loud :) What is the best/cheapest way to go about this? (Not a nail in the exhaust) 😂

Thank you for any replys!

Looks clean, you could get yourself down to Powerflow if they're near you and have them custom make an exhaust for you, cheap will just sound bad like a ***** can from Halfords, you'll pay a bit more at a proper company but you can also choose how it will sound.

Thanks for the reply :) As I'm completely new to doing anything to my cars I'm still a little tight when it comes to actually forking out the cash hahaha :)

As long as my car has a little grumble I'll be happy :) as of nowork you wouldn't even know the engine was on lol :)

Anything that can achieve a nice little grumble without sounding cheap and terrible? :)

Thanks again!

You're looking at about £250 upwards best thing to do is go down to a specialist give them your budget and they can advise you from there, maybe for sound purposes get a K&N air filter, assuming the car does not have a turbo the sound may not be as good as it would on a turbo vehicle.

Sorry can never understand this why would you want to make it louder !!!

peace is good hey

I just don't understand the 'all show and no go' side of things (anymore) People will hear the car leaving the lights and still be able to see and hear it for ages, it's only a 1.4 5dr. Saying that, when I was a 'bit' younger I had a 1.4 mk4 golf with a custom built system from down pipe back, with decat and straight through. No centre box and a short back box with a 3" exit pipe cut at a downwards diagonal angle. You could fit a babies head up there and sounded immense. When I got pulled for it and tested it was putting out 129db. I was made to remove it lol

If it makes you happy though then go for it bud, you only get the chance to mod your first car once, I'm lucky mine was an Astra GTE.

I guess a cheap way would be to change the filter as advised above. Another thing you could do, and this should cost less than £50, is to get a resonator delete done.
