Has anyone ever encountered a fault in a mk4 mondeo zetec whereby the radio turns itself on & off intermittently?

This time of year it could be condensation in the unit causing an intermittent fault.

yes I have. mine is the sony 6000cd in a 2007 mondeo. it comes on and off intermittently usually in 1 hour mode as if it the ignition is not on. sometimes it does not come on at all and the display is completely blank as if there is no power coming to it. very frustrating. I have changed the unit but it still happens suggesting it is to do with the car electronics. I was advised by an auto electronics guy that it is probably the SAM unit but he cannot guarantee that 100%. cost new is 4 figures and I have had no luck finding a second hand one! I would appreciate hearing from anyone else who has experienced this.
