Ford Ka 06

Hello about three months ago I bought my first car, after doing checks I noticed that the coolant level was going below min every two weeks or so. So I paid for a service a month earlier than it was due and asked for them to check what the problem was as well. It's got a full service history from Ford so I decided to take it to my local Ford. They charged an extra £89 to check and said that it was a severe leak from a heating valve. Which has been replaced by them that day, but just over two weeks have past and I've now noticed it's dropped below min again.

I've checked the coolant after short journeys and it seems fine, but after longer journeys it seems to drop below min. I have no idea about cars and I'm not sure what my rights are when a repair has been done but not fixed the problem.

Any advice will be much appreciated thanks.

I'd take it back to the garage and tell them the work has not sorted out the problem. But first, do a bit of research on the internet, there are many good pages explaining the basics of how cars work. I'd also take a picture of the coolant level before and after a long journey to show them what the problem is. If they have said they have fixed the problem and they clearly have not, then your rights as a consumer are pretty clear. They should find and fix the fault properly.
