Fiesta MK6 Reverse Lights

Featured Replies

Hi guys

Picked up a Fiesta MK6 a few weeks back and realised the reverse lights were not working when I put it into reverse gear. I assumed it was the bulbs as a couple of the break light bulbs had gone which I have since replaced. On inspection, the reverse light bulbs seemed fine but then found that the fuse had blown. I replaced this too but I am still not getting any reverse lights which leads me to think it is the switch.

I was wondering if anyone has had similar issues and what the best way to access the switch would be to clean/replace it

Thanks

Just a quick update for anyone having similar problems. I managed to locate the switch by following a guide someone posted for a Fiesta MK6.5 (see below). Depending on the transmission, it's on the front of the gearbox and can be accessed relatively easily without removing any components via the engine bay. I carefully removed the plug and noticed a wire had become loose. After pushing this in to feel a click, giving the plug and socket a quick wipe to get rid of excess oil and dirt, I know have working reverse lights.
