Fiesta 1.4 Zetec cutting out on deceleration help

Featured Replies

As above. Have a 2005 reg fiesta 1.4 zetec. Sent the car to get the timing belt and water pump done and when I got the car back it is cutting out when decelerating/approaching a junction. Got the car plugged in and no fault codes are showing. Tried fitting a second hand fuel pressure regulator and idle air control valve and also changed a rubber vacuum hose that had given away and still nothing. Checked all vacuum pipes also. Car is also gone slightly heavier on petrol. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks. Also apologies if this is in the wrong section

Have you checked the throttle body? I had a similar problem on cold starts and found there was loads of gunk in the throttle body restricting air flow into the engine causing it to run rich and stall when not accelerating
