ecu replacement street ka

hi all just a general question I have a ford street ka that has got a fault with the ecu have traced it all the way back to the ecu from the injector basically I'm wondering if I replace the ecu and transponder with key will I have to do any other to the car to get it running properly again or is there something ive missed
