Galaxy 1.8tdci intermittent fault

Featured Replies

Hi

I have an intermittent fault with my 2006 galaxy 1.8tdci 125HP , it can drive perfect for days then all of a sudden the engine failure light comes on either when going to start or when driving and it cuts out , I can park it at night with nothing wrong then it's a lottery when you come out in the morning if it will be totally fine or if the malfunction light will come on , if you keep turning it over with the light on it will start eventually the runs lumpy for 10 or 15 seconds then clears , you can then switch off and it will start straight back up as if nothing was up and run fine until it happens again which can be several days

My garage found a broken wire to the plug on the common rail pressure sensor so fitted a new plug and sensor , it hasn't really made any difference as it still plays up every couple of days and comes up with engine malfunction  , when it's running it runs perfect though

They plugged it into their computer and it came up with a number of faults as shown in the picture

Any help as to what to look at next would be greatly appreciated

It's very frustrating as it can run perfect for days , tonight I was driving on a country road and it started to misfire as if was going to cut out ( feels like fuel starvation )but didn't , it was like this for about a mile then cleared and has fine since , until the next time :-(

I did run it very low on fuel a month ago and the issues started that same day when I went and filled it up (I didn't run out bit it was very low and I definitely filled it with diesel as kept the receipt )

Any help would be greatly appreciated as its driving me insane 😱😱😱
