Hi all newby alert!!!

I've recently bought some zetec alloys for my poverty spec MK7 Fiesta work horse. They're 195/45 R16 and I was wanting rid of the low profiles for maybe 195/55 or even /65 but was told by my back street part worn tyre bloke that anything bigger would rub. Fair play to the man as I had plenty of money there for him but honestly you could fit a few legs in the wheel arch gap as it is... is he correct?
