Mk1 1999 focus 1.6 zetec dead on key turn

Featured Replies

1999 ford focus 1.6 zetec Long story short 2 nights ago iwent to start the car to no avail all i got was a clicking noise from the glove box area, all electrics work fine, dash, headlights and sterio etc the car eventually started.

The next day i went out to go somewere but the car is completely dead when i turn the key, dash doesnt work lights dont work engine has no respone. Its like turning the key in a car with no battery nothing at all happens..

However the side lights, interior light and heating control back lights still work that literally it.

Have check battery and cleaned all engine ground wires all are good. Battery reading nearly 13volts.

Changed the ignition switch aswell to no avail.

For example the car sterio wont work either but when i put the multi metre to the sterio wires they read 12volts so its reveiving power but still not working. Same for the dash etc still completely dead when turning key.

Have ruled out the immobiliser as the sterio etc ahould still work.

All fueses etc are good aswell in glove compartment and engine bay.

Any help aprreciated.
