2007 Focus II remote key not working

Featured Replies

Hi all

2 weeks ago I had my windshield changed. And ever since I picked it up my remote keys has not worked.

At first I assumed that the battery had run out, so I changed them. But still did not work.

So I thought the key could have lost it's programming, so I tried my other key. It also did not work.

Then I thought MAYBE the battery had run out in both at the same time. So I tried programming the key with the new battery.

I get the car in to programming mode no problem, but not matter how many times I press the button on the key, it does not work. I tried both keys. And even an extra key my friend had.

So I doubt it is the keys that is the problem. And the central locking system also works fine with the manual key.

Is there anyone who has an idea of what the problem can be?

That sounds like it is the remote control receiver. I have a vague idea that on some Foci, the receiver is up near the front dome lamp, so it, or its wiring, could have been disturbed when doing the screen. In others, it is part of the passenger fusebox.

F102 on the Mk2a (F43 on the Mk2) in the passenger fusebox supplies the remote receiver.
