Hi i am taking delivery of my used Focus in a few days but having "Identity Issues" with my car.

On quite a few price comparison websites for insurance my reg suggests it is a 5 door hatch, but is in fact a 4 door saloon.

I get a decent price on these sites, but as its web based there is no way to alter the description and no phone number to ring for assistance.

Any ideas please? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply,i have tried on the web site but its not listed.

Its a 2006 Focus 1.6 LX TDCI 90 saloon,DVLA have verified it as such and its not an import like Confused.com are telling me via email.

Im stuffed as i left a deposit on the car but now i cant buy it.

I didnt think insurance would be a problem as i already drive a Focus and have 9 years no claims bonus.

Any other members own a LX saloon that can help PLEASE?

have you given an insurance company a call? sounds best way forward is to call one of them for a quote rather than using comparison websites, am sure they will accommodate you.

I called 1 who said " i will have to refer it to a colleague" and never rang back.

Im wondering if its a grey import?

On comparison sites the only options for a 1.6 tdci saloon are Ghia or Titanuim but its an LX.

Its annoying because i had a shortlist of cars that i wanted and this was top of my list due to already owning an older model in petrol version and knowing how reliable and cheap runnning costs are.

That will give you the official specs.

Mine was the same, some insurance companies having it down as a Zetec-S, some down as a 1.6 (but not 100ps), etc. It seems to have cleared up now though after 3 years (It worked correctly and gave you the right information if you used its Jersey plate).
