Hi guys,

I'm 20 years old and struggling to find an insurance company who will let me have any mods on my Ecoboost ZS! I don't want anything too mad. I would like to have a front splitter, rear diffuser, an exhaust and maybe mountune mp135 but nobody will insure me! Any recommendations?

Cheers!

Until you reach 21 you may find you'll be pretty limited in your options. Try LV and Admiral and specialist brokers (Adrian Flux, Greenlight, Sky Insurance etc.)

Adrian Flux, Greenlight and Sky won't touch me😔 I've not tried LV but Admiral will let me have mods but it's just a lot of extra money! It's a pain being into cars when you're a young driver😂

Once you turn 21 you should have a few more options but it will still be expensive unfortunately.

I've seen approximately 40% increases in my policies when adding mods (lowering, exhaust, sub and amp on one car and lowering and remap on the other)

I know it's boring advice but maybe you should work on building up your no claims bonus and save your money until you can better afford both the mods and the insurance. At 36 and never having had a claim I still balk at my insurance costs so it really must be horrendous at your age!

I'm gonna be paying about £1000 on my ZS with 3 years no claims which to me isn't too bad but when you compare it to the fact that my dad has insured a Focus RS with FPM375 for £511, it's pretty costly😂 I can afford all the mods and stuff, it's just the insurance!

Have you tried us for insurance yet? If you wanted to PM me I'd be happy to arrange a quotation for you.

Kind Regards

Dan

I have tried you yeah the cheapest you could offer me was over £2000

Adrian flux quoted me 1300 with my back box and wind deflectors and my pin striping

Ok. No worries. Thanks for giving us a try though.

Hope you manage to find something acceptable.

Regards,

Dan.

Admiral charged me an extra £60 ish to my premium for my remap from 115bhp to 150bhp but I'm 25 with 4 years NCB under my belt, LV wouldn't touch any mods for me at all, but wait a year and they will start to welcome you more. Thinking of trying Adrian Flux this time though when my days are up
