DTC CODES

Featured Replies

Hi Folks, the other day I tried to start my 2008 Mk2 1.8tdci Focus. When trying to start the dash read Engine Malfunction. Took the keys out and tried again and it started no bother but sounded a bit Lumpy but cleared after warming up. 2 days later a similar thing happened but the dash read Transmission Malfunction, and the car would Not start, also the dash outside temperature symbol stayed red and the temperature read -60. Eventually got it started and took it to my local Ford dealer. I was told it was the battery needed changing which I have done and the dash has returned to normal. However the car still feels a bit lumpy in the cold and I have done a Dash Test which came up with the codes E510 & D900. Could anyone tell me what they are and the best way to deal with these problems. Thanks.

Hi Gary,

I have an 09 Focus and have exactly the same fault. Did you resolve the issue? Could you share what you did to fix please?

Best regards

The dash readout isn't very good. You're best getting an obd2 scanner and find the codes using that. You should get a bit more of an accurate diagnosis.
