Peoples preferences of music choice when driving?

Featured Replies

Curious to see what people listen to when they are driving? What genre(s) names of artists and how loud!

My music taste is pretty vast, personally right now Im into R&B and rap, i like the bass up high and volume usually about 17+.

On weekends before a night out I quite like blasting techno/deephouse/house

depends on what type of day ive had...

at the moment I have Avenged Sevenfold, iPrevail and Evanesence going on. other times it can be something like PPK: resurrection.

Last week was Eminem - just depends how I feel, really.

im the same i have a vast amount of songs, some drum and base, i have a few Sum 41 songs and i have (dont laugh)  a couple ed sheeran songs haha.

I like all sorts of rock, punk, pop lol but Paramore I quite like to listen to when driving

I can listen to pretty much anything pre-2000, but my preference is the 60s through 80s.

Heavy rock from the 70s/80s AC/DC, Motorhead, Black Sabbath etc etc and depending on the mood some Pink Floyd. :punk:

Anyone notice the difference different music affects your driving style? Bob Marley's 3 Little Birds came on the radio the other day on the way home from work and I cranked it up and after a couple of minutes I was down to 20mph(in a 30) :afro: :smoke:

When I've got Pipper with me, I usually drive without anything on.

Without her it varies considerably.

Yes, indeed, I've found  house, techno and speed metal are good if you need to be somewhere at a definite time and haven't really allowed yourself enough.  Reggae and trance for that matter, will slow you right down to a crawl, so that even grannies in Nissans will overtake you

I will listen to whatever is on the radio (tends to be Radio 1) until I actively don't like something (i.e. Justin Bieber) and then swap over stations. If I could be bothered to sling some of my own choices onto a USB stick then I would probably be listening to anything form Warren G - Regulate to Dua Lipa.

I listen to mainly Kisstory, with the occasional Kiss, Absolute 00's, or Magic Chilled.

Infrequently, I'll sometimes start playing my Modern Rock playlist on Spotify.

That said there are some songs/artists that I absolutely loathe, and will switch radio stations upon hearing them play: Little Mix, Rag Bone Man, Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, to name a few.

I've got an Amazon music playlist on my phone with about 200 songs on ranging from Muse, Slaves, Deftones and Blood Red Shoes through to Amy Winehouse and Beatles

U2, Pink Floyd, Paulo Nutini and Gorillaz are my current choices.
Absolute radio and local stations for traffic and news occasionally but definitely not Radio 1, too much s### on there for me.

The new Gorillaz album is quite good. The Saturnz Barnz video is good and the 360 YouTube version is also fun to watch. Gorillaz are playing down in Margate soon and I will be on duty to support the highway side of things.

Yes you can Lenny, to which I totally agree

i usually listen too radio 1 whilst at work, i only like to listen to scott mills because of inuendo bingo, bangers and real or no real the other presenters arnt two good like nick and clara but my radio at work you have to manually hold a button to change frequences and i cant be ar**** with that haha, greg james is alright tho i only listen to 45 mins of hish show befor i leave work.

I like a very eclectic mix of music, last week I was listening to Pink, The Police and Ace Of Base and tonight I was singing Madonnas Like a Prayer to my baby lol. Last month though I was listening to DMX, Eminem, Dre and Warren G. This week though it was a mix of recent pop music on a Spotify playlist.

Exclusively no music in my car. Normally Talk Radio stations

Light classical music only allowed in my car, can't be doing with all this head banging and screeching women.

at the moment iv been recommended a new playlist on spotify from montercat new releases its a playlist of about 10 hours of various tunes, more drum and bass type only listened to about 5 songs due too the missus not liking them haha,

Currently have these on shuffle:

1.Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack
2. Death Magnetic - Metallica
3. QUO - Status Quo
4. Live - AC/DC

Mainly classic rock like, Led Zeppelin, Rush & Free. Not too loud as I'm aware of very mild tinnitus.

However I did spin a Mk4 Escort once (long time ago) into a ditch whilst blasting AC/DC Highway to Hell, which I thought was quite appropriate!

When I'm in my truck (which is most of the day) I listen to Braingell Radio. Without doubt the best of the best Metal radio stations and no bleedin adverts ever. Oh and the volume is at max.
In the car it's Metal most of the time but I do listen to radio 1's Friction (drum n bass) just to exercise my subwoofer lol. Volume is at 20. 30 would wake the dead lol

I mostly listen to classic rock and metal with the occasional bit of country or 80s pop.

Whats your favourite Floyd album Clive? How long you been a fan?
