Egr fault

Featured Replies

Got a 1.6 tdci 2011 euro5. been havin probs with egr fault, its been changed twice. im using forscan to clear the codes, but after a few miles it loses power again, forscan says egr control circuit high, stuck closed, but i know it isnt. would a blanking plate solve the loss of power on a euro 5 engine? im not bothered about the eml light coming on i can just turn it off with forscan.

cheers!!

Hi mate unplug the sensor and the valve will stay shut and the car will run smooth just means you will have eml light on but car should work fine or you could just blank it egrs are useless

cheers for the reply, i'll give that a go a and put the blanking plate in.like i say im not bothered about the eml light i'll just put up with it till i can afford to get it deleted and remapped. i pull a caravan with it and pulls it no probs until that power loss and it really struggles to get up the smallest of hills

I drive mine around with eml light on had a similar problem was getting choked up and make in the car jerk ever since I unplugged it car has been running completely smoothly so hopefully it works for you

i'll give it a go today. like i say i know its not clogged cos its been replaced twice and the manifold cleaned. so i think its an electrical or ecu fault, just hope it solves it till i can afford remap and egr delete

Disconnected the egr lead, the eml light is on now but i dont on the car runs like a dream just pulled  our 1100kg caravan for 60 miles up and down hills never been able to have it in 5th towing the caravan. Today i drove most of the way in 5th at a steady 55/60 without having to constantly go up and down gears. Egr valves are  nothing but ***** haha

Nice one mate so it worked for you don't exactly same thing to mine still driving in like that now few thousand miles later

I would of replayed sooner but my notification thing don't show up unless I'm on here
