Focus 1.4 LX Estate - is there a MAF sensor?

Featured Replies

Hi.

Does anyone know where or if there is a mass airflow sensor on a 2004 Mk1 1.4 petrol Focus estate?

What looks like the MAF housing on the side of the air filter housing just has an empty tube with a plastic cross inside.. There is no sensor or wiring connector there.

The large flexible air intake tube then travels down from there to the Throttle Body.

Using the dashboard/trip meter scan, I am getting a P103 code which relates, I believe to the MAF. Engine starts and runs ok but falters at the lower revs in each gear as you change up, or if you slow down without changing down. As soon as it comes under load it hesitates when trying to accelerate but then picks up as speed increases.

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
